Amberjack on the Bow | Last Mango Charters

An amberjack held up on the bow of the Last Mango. Amberjack are the fish that teach people what "heavy tackle" means: they live deep around the wrecks and ledges and they head straight back down the moment they feel the hook.

Bottom fishing off Fort Pierce

The boat runs 10 to 15 miles offshore on a normal day, out over the structure that holds amberjack, grouper and snapper. Capt. Tris Colket has 25 years of charter fishing on Florida's East Coast and the Bahama Islands, and you fish with a mate as well as a captain.

What is on the boat

Rods, reels, tackle and bait, ice, chilled bottled water and your fishing licence. You do not need to buy or borrow a thing. It is a private charter, so the boat is yours: six anglers is the limit, and nobody else is booked alongside you.

The Last Mango fishes out of the Fort Pierce City Marina, Dock E: full days and three-quarter days, whole boat, up to six anglers, with rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice and your fishing licence on board. See the trips and rates or check a date.

Seasons, size limits and bag limits are set by FWC and NOAA and change from year to year. Call the boat on 772-559-0594 and Capt. Tris will tell you exactly what is open the week you want to fish.
