Bluefin Tuna Fishing Fort Pierce with Last Mango Charters
Capt. Tris Colket ·

If you searched for bluefin tuna fishing Fort Pierce, here is the straight answer. Tuna is on our list of target species, along with sailfish, dolphin, wahoo, kingfish, cobia, grouper, snapper and amberjack. We fish 10-15 miles offshore on a normal day, farther when the fish are farther. Whether bluefin are around on the day you want is something I will tell you honestly on the phone. I would rather you know that before you book than find out on the water. The trips suit groups of up to 6 who want a real day offshore. That can be serious anglers, a few friends, or a family who has never been out past the inlet. It is a private boat, so the day is built around your group and nobody else.
When is the season? I am not going to put months on this page that I cannot stand behind. Fish move, water changes, and what was true one year is not always true the next. If you are planning a trip around bluefin tuna fishing Fort Pierce, call and ask. Capt. Tris Colket will tell you what is biting, what is not, and what the odds look like for your dates. If bluefin are not a good bet that week, he will say so, and he will tell you what we can fish for instead. That call costs you nothing and saves a wasted day.
What does it cost? The Full Day runs 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and is $2,000 for the boat. That is eight hours and the range to use them. The Three-Quarter Day runs 7:00 am to 1:00 pm and is $1,750 for the boat. That is six hours, long enough to get offshore and fish properly, short enough to be back with the afternoon still ahead of you. Both are private and priced for the boat, not per person, so bring one friend or bring five for the same money. Rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice and your fishing licence are on the boat, and your catch is filleted and bagged at the dock. We take Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. For a chase like tuna, where you may need to run, the Full Day gives you more time to go where the fish are.
The boat is the Last Mango, a 40' custom-built Sportfish Express. She has twice the fishing room of most boats her size, which matters when 6 people are on board and a fish is pulling. She was built to fish, which is a different thing from being built to look like she fishes. Your captain is Capt. Tris Colket. He has been doing this for 25 years offshore. The boat is USCG-licensed and insured. The crew works hard for you, and you will see that from the first line in the water until the fish is cleaned at the dock.
We leave from the Fort Pierce City Marina, Dock E. The address is 1 Ave A, Dock E, Fort Pierce. Both fishing trips start at 7:00 am, so plan to be at the dock a little before that with your group together. From there we run out to the fishing grounds, usually 10-15 miles offshore, and farther if that is where the fish are. We fish waters off Fort Pierce, St. Lucie County, Port St. Lucie, Vero Beach and Stuart. Where we go on your day depends on where the fish are, and the captain makes that call.
What should you bring? Not much. The fishing side is covered. Rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice and your fishing licence are all on the boat. Cleaning your catch is in the price too. You bring food, drink and a hat. Dress for a day on the water and bring whatever you need to be comfortable for six or eight hours offshore. If you have a question about anything else to pack, ask the captain when you call.
Do I need a fishing licence? No, you do not need to buy one. Your fishing licence is included and on the boat, along with the rods, reels, tackle, bait and ice. You show up, and we handle the rest of the fishing side.
What happens if the weather is bad? A $250 deposit holds the date. Cancel 5 days out and you get all of it back. If the sea is not fit to fish, you get all of it back whatever the notice. Full refund, no argument. The captain makes the call on whether it is safe and worth going.
Can I keep a bluefin if we catch one? Your catch is filleted and bagged at the dock. Rules on keeping bluefin are something to ask the captain about directly, since I will not guess at regulations on this page. Is a tip expected? The crew works hard for you, and 15% to 20% for the mate is the custom. Everything else is already in the price.
To book, call 772-559-0594 or use the Check a date button on the site. Tell us how many are in your group, up to 6, which trip you want, and that you are interested in tuna. Capt. Tris Colket will give you a straight answer on bluefin tuna fishing Fort Pierce for your dates. A $250 deposit holds the day. If you want time on the water without the fishing, there is also an Evening Cruise for $750 for the boat, up to 6 guests, with the time set with the captain. Either way, call and we will sort it out.
