Grouper Across the Cockpit | Last Mango Charters
Capt. Tris Colket ·

A grouper laid across the cockpit of the Last Mango. Grouper and amberjack are the bottom fish that bend a rod double and make you earn it: heavy tackle, deep water, short arguments.
Where the grouper live
Off Fort Pierce they hold on the ledges, wrecks and hard bottom 10 to 15 miles out. The Last Mango is a 40-foot custom Sportfish Express with about twice the working deck of other boats her length, so six people can fight fish at the same time without fighting each other for room.
A day out of the sun
Between drops, the salon is shaded, dry and right beside the gear, so you can sit out of the sun without leaving the fishing. There is a proper head aboard. Bring food and drink (there is plenty of room for coolers, just not the kind on wheels), a hat, sunglasses and non-aerosol sunscreen.
The Last Mango fishes out of the Fort Pierce City Marina, Dock E: full days and three-quarter days, whole boat, up to six anglers, with rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice and your fishing licence on board. See the trips and rates or check a date.
Seasons, size limits and bag limits are set by FWC and NOAA and change from year to year. Call the boat on 772-559-0594 and Capt. Tris will tell you exactly what is open the week you want to fish.
